Chris Mills & Jacky Harris, UK
My partner and I visited Corbett in January 2002 towards the end of a two-week birding trip to Northern India. We had three days at the Camp Forktail Creek at Corbett, with the people at Wild World India who provided excellent camping accommodation, food and guiding.

Philosophy:

Wild World India strives to stimulate an interest and help develop an understanding of the rich natural heritage of the Indian subcontinent. We believe in working closely with our identified network of local naturalists and guides, the 'insiders' who have the knowledge to make your wildlife experience both exciting and enriching. It is this level of ground support and constant inputs from the field that helps us cater to your specialized needs much better. Though we are travel promoters, we don't take you on mere holidays, but through insightful explorations help enhance your understanding of the area and its inhabitants. Our commitment to ecologically responsible tourism makes us ideal travel partners.

About the tours:

For years, we have been customizing wildlife trips across India, aiding nature photographers, student groups, research institutions and the average travel enthusiast from across the globe. Combining the well-known with the less-explored, we have crystallized our experience and India's diverse flora and fauna into meticulously planned tours. We offer customized information, photographs, checklists and all logistical support for each destination. Apart from being the best showcase of Indian wildlife, the tours have been designed keeping in mind all your concerns about comfort, hygiene, food, eco-friendliness and minimum transit time for maximum wildlife opportunities. While our choice of transit hotels is impeccable, on trips we ensure that you stay in the best lodges, forest bungalows and tented camps that retain the character of a place without compromising on comfort.

An Eco-friendly Company:

We care for nature and take utmost care not to disturb it, maintaining a high degree of ecological sensitivity in our tours. Fully embracing the principle of 'Leave back no garbage', not only do we carry back all our non-biodegradable waste, but also clean up the litter left behind by other visitors. We minimize the use of plastic on nature camps and treks, discourage the wasteful consumption of deadwood and water and use biodegradable soaps and detergents. Wherever we go, we encourage maximum local participation, thus creating sustainable economic alternatives to natural resource exploitation. You may choose to help directly at the grass-root level in small ways, which will make a big difference to the area you visited. We will send you regular post trip updates on how your contributions are helping.

Projects:

Wild World India spends part of its earnings and a greater part of its time and effort in maintaining certain identified conservation projects. We do Mahseer Conservation on the Western Ramganga and offer Home-stays around various wildlife preserves. Our unique home-stays give you the rare opportunity of experiencing natural wilderness while imbibing local cultures. At Bhakrakot, you stay at the periphery of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, in Sikkim inside Kangchendzonga Biosphere Reserve and in Ladakh within Snow Leopard territory of the Hemis High Altitude National Park .
